Perched on the fourteenth floor of Novotel Sliema, Soleil is Malta's idea of a long afternoon. Sunbeds and umbrellas, the chef's small kitchen, fresh juices then long cold spritzes — until the colour goes peach.
When the sky bruises violet, the music shifts. The pool, lit from below, becomes a second sky. Glasses catch what's left of the sun, and the rooftop becomes a velvet lounge above the harbour.
